The Last Two Years

Just some updates on our life, because I forgot about this blog for 2 years. A big one would be our first niece in the Van Pelt family was born, Tegan Alanna Van Pelt. As hard of an experience it has been for Cassie to be a single mom, after having a child with the craziest psycho path I have ever met, and doing it all on her own, we have seen so much growth in her and she is such an amazing mom. The situation could be better, but Tegan has so much love surrounding her by not only her mom but all of our family, we know that she came to our home for a reason. Austin and I have loved watching her grow up into such a cute happy little girl.

We also found out we are pregnant with a little girl due on September 12th. We are excited for the opportunity to be parents. I have been hesitant because I feel like I am not quite ready, but ready or not she is coming, and I know that when she comes she will be an awesome blessing. My pregnancy has been relatively easy in comparison to others, I have had no nausea or any other symptoms other than back pain and some heart burn. I have increasingly become more and more lazy, wearing basketball shorts and not doing my hair and makeup, which has been really comfortable :) Anyways we are really excited for the summer to be over so that I am not pregnant anymore and we have a cute little baby!

Zach's Chilean Adventure

This week we were able to experience sending out our little missionary Zach. He was called to Chile in March and has been so ready to leave and serve the people. We are so proud of him and his choice to give up two years of his life to serve The Lord and his children living on the other side of the world. His flight left at 6:00 AM so we all woke up at 2:00 AM to drive him to the airport, which most of you know, was the worst thing that could ever happen to me because I value my sleep more than gold. It was worth it though to see him off and give him one last hug.

Summer

It has been a pretty busy summer for us. We started it out by going to Arizona with my family to see my grandparents. It was the first time Austin had been so he got to experience the wretched heat first hand. We were able to go to Tombstone and walk around town. We also went to Bisbee to go through the copper mine and to Great Grandpas favorite restaurant at the Queen Mary hotel. We were lucky enough to have the company of my Aunt Peggy and Great Grandma. We were really grateful that we had that special time to spend with grandma.
We were also able to go to Moab and Capitol Reef with our friends Tyler, Jason and Taryn. We went on a few really beautiful hikes and really enjoyed our time with each other. I got a small case of heat stroke while in Moab which hindered some of my hiking because I was upchucking. Note to self, drink way more water next time.

Lake Powell

We went to Lake Powell this year for the 2012 Anderson family reunion. It was a little tight on space  because the second house boat we had planned on having, suddenly broke down. We all had to be up in everyone's business and fit 35 people on one house boat.  It ended up being a lot of fun, and it being my first time at a reunion, I got to know Austin's extended family a lot better being cramped. We had a great time with the paddle boards, DEJAPEBAJ, wake riders, Anderson Olympics, surfing, boarding, kayaks and of course family. Austins siblings who live out of state and country were also able to come, so it was really great to be able to be with them and our niece and nephews. Overall we came home with a lot of great memories and a little bit sun burnt.

Caved in...

So never thought I would, but I have officially caved into the married people blogging. Strictly to keep people updated on our oh so exciting life. Anyways, Austin and I were married just a couple months ago on August first. We have definitely been enjoying the married life! A lot of our time has been taken up by work and school, however, we have found time to do some fun stuff :)
